Our History

We are a multi-cultural church, located in the city of Carson.  Our members come from all walks of life and worship as one.  We are celebrating more than 50 years of faithful ministry to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Work

Congregational Vitality

Our vision at Harbor Community Church of God is to teach the people of Carson and surrounding communities how to follow Christ Jesus as His disciples, to build them up in the faith with the gospel and to send them back into our communities to teach others the gospel with the love of Christ.  We are biblically based while being culturally sensitive and socially relevant by reaching people where they are and meeting their needs.

Those that be planted in the house of the

LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.

Church Planting

Compassion, Mercy and Justice

Strong churches provide glimpses of the Revelation 7:9 church to the world: “After this I looked, and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, robed in white, with palm branches in their hands.”

Our Church was incorporated in 1960 and initially called itself Normandie Avenue Church of God, located in Gardena, California.  In the early sixties, the church moved to 21521 South Avalon Boulevard, Carson, California, and changed the name to Harbor Community Church of God.  In 2010 the church built a brand new facility at our existing location, 21739 Dolores Street, Carson, California.

We have made a commitment to plant new churches.  Church planting creates new pathways for connecting with people who do not know Christ by providing local faith communities that help them grow in their spiritual walk.
